Apart from the visual overhaul, the new design also features a more intuitive way of organizing the app, a number of changes to the way you use it, as well as updated email notifications.
Here are the nine biggest ones.
1. We've done away with the Safelist
There is no longer a dedicated area in Tricent called Safelist. Users can still choose to keep sharing a file if needed, but this is now referred to as an extension. The user no longer chooses the length of the extension period. Instead, the extension period is now pre-selected by admins. This makes for a more straightforward process. |

2. Settings area replaces Configure Cleanup
We've moved all the cleanup settings from Configure Cleanup to a brand-new Settings area. This is now the place to set up both My Drives and shared drives and to introduce exceptions (previously called overrides) to those settings on groups or organizational units. The area also contains features from Administrative Actions, such as delegated administration, trusted domains, and the user list. |
3. You now have in-app notifications
To help users understand what has happened in the Tricent app, we have introduced a notification center in the upper-right corner of the app. Unread notifications will be marked red for a quick overview, and all items are time-stamped and organized chronologically.

4. Bulk cleanup of domains and external users
With the new design, we are also introducing an entirely new feature. You can now clean up everything shared with a specific domain or external user. This comes in handy if you want to remove all file sharing your users have done with a company that has had their security compromised.

5. More intuitive navigation
The remaining features from the Admin area have been put into the Insights and History area. In Insights, you can do bulk cleanup and export sharing statistics. And in History, you can look into the system and event logs and roll back actions that users and the cleanup engine have carried out. This should create more intuitive navigation. |
6. New content and sender name in emails
The notification emails have been rewritten for clarity, but also to reflect the new design. We have also changed email sender name from "your organization name Drive Compliance Tool" to "Tricent for Google Workspace". The email sender address remains the same, namely no-reply@app.tricent.com. So no need for you to allow-list a new address. |
7. Mobile-friendly dashboard
You can now access your cleanup list on your mobile device. When you open a notification email on your mobile device, you can access the cleanup list in the Tricent dashboard right there to stop or extend the sharing with a few clicks.
8. A new area with all shared files
We have introduced a new area that lists all files eligible for cleanup that the user has shared with both colleagues in his or her own organization and people outside it. The area is called Files. This gives a complete overview and enables users to both extend and stop the sharing of files that are not yet part of their cleanup cycle.
9. Visualization of the cleanup cycle
For a better understanding of how your global cleanup cycles work, we added a timeline visualization in the Settings area. When you change your global cleanup settings, you can now see exactly when the new cycle will take over before you save the settings. Note that the timeline only shows your global cleanup cycles, not cleanup cycles that are running through exceptions. |
